Dimensionally Transcendent Plasma Forge

The Dimensionally Transcendent Plasma Forge (DTPF) is a UEV tier multiblock that breaches dimensional boundaries to forge some of the most exotic materials in GTNH through five different tiers of excited dimensionally transcendent catalysts. This machine is mandatory for progression to UIV as it is the only machine capable of crafting raw tesseracts for transcendent metal. The DTPF is also very useful for crafting quantum anomalies, superconductor bases, bedrockium, chromatic glass, neutronium, cosmic neutronium, infinity, hypogen, spacetime, and shirabon.

Expect to make many Compact Fusion Reactors to supply enough plasma for the catalysts. Also, the Transcendent Plasma Mixer should be crafted as soon as the player has access to UIV components and wireless EU because it absolutely trivializes catalyst production.

Construction

The Dimensionally Transcendent Plasma Forge is comparable to a Mega Blast Furnace in that it consists of many coil blocks which determine the heat capacity of the machine and therefore which recipes can be run. All of the coil blocks must be the same tier to form. Crafting input buffer/bus is supported. The Multiblock Structure Hologram Projector can be used to quickly build a DTPF where the number of projectors stacked together determines the coil tier.

Wallsharing

The DTPF can wallshare a significant amount of coil blocks on all of its sides which offers a lot of savings, especially for the higher tier coils which require circuits to craft. The buses/hatches can also be shared with up to four DTPF at once.

Usage

The following are the recipes that are unlocked with each new coil tier. This list is NOT all-inclusive and does not include any of the more efficient versions of recipes that are gated behind higher tier coils/catalysts. While the player can start with awakened draconium coils, raw tesseracts require at least infinity coils to craft so it may be worth it to skip those (unless you really need quantum anomalies for the Quantum Force Transformer).

Dimensional Convergence

It is intended for the player to keep the Dimensionally Transcendent Plasma Forge running as long as possible. After 8 hours of continuous operation, the DTPF can perfectly align and synchronize multidimensional spaces, fully breaching dimensional boundaries and achieving Dimensional Convergence.

Approaching convergence reduces catalyst consumption by up to 50%. The recipe does NOT need to be the same throughout and the savings does NOT apply to any of the other input ingredients (including dimensionally transcendent residue). The current discount can be seen by using a Portable Scanner on the controller or through an industrial information panel. While no recipe is running, the catalyst discount decays 100 times faster than it builds up; just 4.8 minutes of inactivity will undo a full 8 hours of run time.

During convergence, the DTPF additionally performs perfect overclocks IF there is a transdimensional alignment matrix in the controller. The matrix is gated behind UMV components and therefore cannot be crafted at the same time as the player's first DTPF. The perfect overclocks are not entirely free and will increase the amount of catalyst needed depending on the energy of the catalyst as well as the difference between the total EU of the original recipe (without overclocks) and the total EU of the recipe with the same number of imperfect overclocks.

Recipes that do not take any catalyst will add catalyst as an extra input, the tier of which can be selected in the GUI of the controller (1=Crude up to 5=Stellar). Output residue amounts still scale proportionally to the tier/amount of catalyst and the 50% discount is still applied to the added catalyst, hence the 2 in the bottom of the equation.

Example Calculations

The following graph shows how much catalyst is needed for crafting molten neutronium for varying amounts of perfect overclocks. Note that while this graph is continuous, the number of perfect overclocks is discrete. Stellar catalyst is not included because there is no recipe for molten neutronium that uses that catalyst (or any recipe that uses all 5 for that matter).

To walk through an example, take the molten neutronium recipe using prosaic catalyst running at 64A of UMV power (8,589,934,592 EU/t). The original recipe takes 14,753L of prosaic catalyst and 36,484,545,600 total EU, but the 50% discount drops the required prosaic catalyst down to 7,376L and the recipe is perfectly overclocked three times. The theoretical total energy of the recipe given three imperfect overclocks is as follows:

This equates to an additional 1,912L of prosaic catalyst per recipe of molten neutronium which is only 26% more catalyst than the original recipe after the discount. The perfect overclocks are absolutely worth the cost, especially for how negligible it is for exotic and stellar catalyst.
