Primordial Armor
The Primordial Armor set is an armor set from Witching Gadgets and is the final tier of the Fortress Armor line, requiring a set of Shadow Fortress Armor and three Primordial Pearls alongside other Thaumcraft resources. Unlike the other Fortress armors, it also has a set of boots, upgraded from Boots of the Voidwalker. Compared to the components they upgrade from, Primordial pieces have 2 more protection, increased durability, 6% vis discount instead of 5%, and Warping 10 instead of 5 (meaning each equipped piece adds 10 warp while worn). Like all fortress armor, the helmet can be combined with Goggles of Revealing and faceplates. Finally, wearing any Primordial piece negates all fall damage, and the armor set provides both full hazmat protection and space suit capability.
Alignment
This armor set has a unique mechanic where each piece can be aligned to one of the six primal aspects - Aer, Terra, Ignis, Aqua, Ordo, and Perditio, noted by the background color changing to match the aspect. The alignment can also be seen in the item tooltip. There is a seventh alignment, Primal, which does nothing and is the state the armor is originally in after infusion. The alignment can be freely cycled in the UI bound to the Traveller's Gear Active Abilities key. Some abilities depend on the number of pieces with that alignment, such as the potency of the Regeneration effect granted by the Terra alignment, while others are unique to specific pieces.
Aer
- 1+: Projectiles shot at you are reflected back at the shooter. In practice, this has an inconsistent minimum range of several blocks.
- 2+: Gain creative flight.
Terra
- Boots: Gain knockback resistance.
- 1+: Gain Regeneration (2 + number of Terra-aligned pieces) whenever you take damage, except damage from the Sacrificial Knife.
Ignis
- Helmet: Gain Night Vision when it is night or when the brightness level is less than 4, which also works underwater.
- 1+: Fire is automatically extinguished, and gain 25% resistance to explosion and fire damage. Further, whenever you take damage from a non-undead source, light it on fire for (5 * number of Ignis-aligned pieces) seconds.
- 2+: When fully submerged in lava you gain Fire Resistance, becoming immune to its damage, and can see without the normal red filter, but you also gain Blindness which limits your range of visibility.
Aqua
- Helmet: Gain Water Breathing and, when underwater, Night Vision.
- 1+: Cure Blindness, Poison, Wither, Confusion, Taint Poison, Mining Fatigue, Hunger, and Weakness.
Ordo
- Any piece: Reduces the Warping level from 10 to 5, and increase the vis discount from 6% to 10%.
- 1+: Gain Regeneration I, and any negative effects from warp (Vis Exhaustion, Thaumarrhea, Unnatural Hunger, Blurred Vision, Sun Scorned, or Death Gaze) have their potency reduced by the number of Ordo-aligned pieces and their duration reduced by 1/(1 + number of Ordo-aligned pieces).
Perditio
- 1+: Whenever you take damage from a non-undead source, afflict it with Slowness IV and Blindness for (10 * number of Perditio-aligned pieces) seconds.
