Introduction

The Algae Farm is a GT++ multiblock used to produce up to 5 different types of Algae Biomass items. The machine requires no power, maintenance, and produces no pollution, and creates the items for free over time, but to get some of the Algae Biomass blocks, it can require multiple expensive machine casings.

Construction

At minimum, the block requires it's main machine block, an output bus, 64 sterile farm casings, and 79 machine casings. The bottom is composed of the machine block in the front center of the structure, with any of the other blocks having the possibility of being machine casings, input busses, output busses, or input hatches. The sterile farm casings then fill up the next two layers, acting as "walls" to the farm. The input hatch can be provided water to fill in the the first layer of air above the machine casings, or you can do this manually. It does not have to be filled to the top. The tooltip says the buses/hatches need to match the tier of machine casing, but that doesn't seem to matter in practice to make it run. The machine casings can be anything from LV to UHV, they do not work with UEV+ machine casings.

Usage

The following table is based off of running each tier and calculating the rough average they would output. The way the tiers of casings works is it not only increases the speed of the processing, but it also gives different chances of getting different algae biomasses, therefor this table should be taken with a grain of salt because it doesn't have an exact percent/output count each time. Do note that while the percentages are rounded, the highest tiers saw increase slightly in red count as the tier increased. Sometimes their processing speed can be 3x slower as well.
