NIDAS

Networked Information Display & Automation Software

NIDAS runs as a program over the OpenOS shell on an OpenComputer setup in-game. It can be found on GitHub.
As shown in the picture above it displays various information such as:

  • Total Energy in Energy Storage.
  • Energy input/output.
  • Minecraft world time, day and year.
  • Real Time.

Installing NIDAS

  1. You need to be at least in HV-tier to get started with NIDAS, look in the Quest Book under the "SFM and Computers" tab to get started.
  2. Get an OpenComputer and equip it with a T3 CPU, T3 GPU, at least 1 stick of T3.5 RAM, an internet card, a T2 wireless network card, at least a T2 hard disk drive, etc. Not sure how?
  3. Install OpenOS on it.
  4. Install NIDAS on it (copy into the shell and press enter).

  5. Run a length of OpenComputer cable's to your Lapotronic Supercapacitor and set down an Adapter next to it connected to the cable line. (The Adapter has to touch the LSC controller, the cable doesn't have to.)
  6. Get a glasses terminal and a pair of AR glasses; set down the terminal connected to the computer (range on it is infinite, don't worry) and right click the glasses on the terminal (there won't be any immediate feedback but the glasses' tooltip will have updated).
  7. On the NIDAS machine, click on "Primary Server" under "Available" and click "Activate"; do the same for the "HUD" module; click on "Save" at the bottom.
  8. Click on "Primary Server" again and select "Configure"; ensure that "Main Server" is enabled (should be by default) and click on "None" beside "Power Capacitor"; if you see a long string, that's your LSC, so select it; click on "Save Configuration".
  9. Open the HUD module's config page in similar fashion and select the UUID from the list; enable the HUD elements you want.
  10. Check what your GUI scale is set to in your options and set the scale accordingly (1=small, 2=normal, 3=large, 4=auto).
  11. Check your screen's resolution; if you're playing in fullscreen it's easy, but if you're in windowed then you might have to subtract a bit from your Y resolution.
  12. If you care about the time display, check your time zone's UTC offset and input that.
  13. Save configuration; reboot for good measure; hit "Run".
  14. If everything's good, open the settings pane at the bottom, enable "Autorun", and save.
  15. Don't forget to equip the AR glasses, either as a helmet or in an extra-slot such as baubles necklace slot or Tinker's Construct glasses slot.
