The Electrolyzer is a singleblock machine that uses electricity to separate compounds into their component chemicals and/or elements. This function is not to be confused with the Centrifuge, which separates mixtures into it's own components.

There are 12 tiers of electrolyzers in the game, running from LV through to UMV. The multiblock equivalent, the Industrial Electrolyzer, can go through to MAX voltage. Generally, the rarer or more complex the compound, the higher the tier of electrolyzer that is required. For example, the electrolysis of water into hydrogen and oxygen only requires LV, while the electrolysis of alumina into aluminium and oxygen requires HV.

This machine sees common use in processing chains, such as ore processing, to allow the more useful material to be separated from a less useful substance.
