Recycler
Recyclers are tiered GregTech single block machines adapted from the IndustrialCraft 2 Recycler. They consume most items and have a small chance of yielding Scrap for each item destroyed. Nine Scrap can be combined into a Scrapbox in a Packager, and opened automatically with an Unpackager. Many items are blacklisted from Recyclers; they will be consumed but have zero chance of yielding Scrap.
There is also a multiblock Recycler / Mass Fabricator combination in the UV tier Matter Fabricator.
Usage
While technically a resource source for many raw materials, the drop rate of Scrapboxes is so incredibly low as to be unfeasible for all but the most desperate of situations or Challenge Runs. Recyclers are deployed to void excess, unwanted byproducts of a production line and/or to obtain Scrapboxes for UU-Matter production. The scrapboxes can be fed into an Aplifabricator to create UU-Amplifier, which is used by a Mass Fabricator and reduces its power usage by 75%. Dedicated UU-Matter production is superseded by the more economical Space Flower or UUM Berry crops.
A Recycler setup pairs well with bees, as they end up making lots of low-value combs, excess drones and item drops that are not blacklisted.
