Mega Chemical Reactor
The Mega Chemical Reactor is the mega variant of the Chemical Reactor. It has the same behavior as the Large chemical reactor and additionally has the following features:
- TecTech Energy Hatch support (Tier is limited by glass tier, UV-glass unlocks Lasers)
- Crafts with up to 256 parallels (it will first try to parallel as much as possible and then apply overclocks)
- More room for IO (caveat: positioning is stricter than LCR)
The Mega Chemical Reactor is the go to in later tiers, as with the 4/4 overclock on both the LCR and MCR recipes can reach the 1 tick processing time really quick. After that only parallels can be used to process faster. Like the LCR the MCR can be recipe locked.
How to Build
A Mega Chemical Reactor is a 5x5x9 structure that requires:
- 1 Mega Chemical Reactor Controller Block
- 1 Maintenance hatch
- 28 PTFE Pipe Casings
- 64 Borosilicate Glass Blocks (of appropriate tier for the input voltage desired)
- At least 46 Chemically Inert Machine Casings (up to a maximum of 82, realistically 77 needed)
- 7 Fusion Coil Blocks
In addition to the above, you can have up to 28 Input/Output Buses/Hatches and 8 Energy Hatches. If the maximum number of energy/material input/output blocks are not required, they can be substituted with Chemically Inert Machine Casings.
Aspiring MCR users should utilize the blueprint tool to understand the positioning constraints for the MCR, as it is not as universally flexible as the LCR in terms of hatch/bus placement.
